After installing the add-in, Revit shows a Rook Lateral tab with a Bridge panel.
Ribbon commands
| Command | Use |
|---|---|
| Sign in to Rook Lateral | Opens your browser to sign in. Creates a Revit device credential. Does not use a desktop seat. |
| Export to Rook Lateral | Writes a .rook-revit.json file with structural walls, levels, and hosted openings for manual import in Rook. |
| Set lateral frame | Marks the open sheet as the page Rook uses to place sent geometry. Required before live sends. One sheet covers every level. |
| Send to | Dropdown of signed-in Rook Lateral sessions you can send to (yourself or a colleague). |
Right-click Send to Rook Lateral
- Select walls, or floors/slabs that form a diaphragm.
- Right-click and choose Send to Rook Lateral โ Level 1 (through Level 5).
- Geometry is pushed to the session selected in Send to.
Sends are additive. Rook appends geometry and does not replace what is already in the project.
Typical live workflow
- Install the add-in and restart Revit.
- On the Rook Lateral ribbon, click Sign in to Rook Lateral.
- Open the sheet you want Rook to use and click Set lateral frame.
- In Rook Lateral, open your project and leave Revit โ Receive from Revit checked.
- In Revit, select walls (or diaphragm floors/slabs), then Send to Rook Lateral โ the target level.
- Confirm Send to points at the correct Rook Lateral session.
Tips
- Structural walls with NonBearing usage are skipped. Curved structural walls are skipped and reported as warnings.
- If Send to Rook Lateral is missing or grayed out, sign in from the ribbon and select walls or diaphragm floors/slabs.
- Signing in from Revit does not require Rook Lateral to be running, but live sends need a receiving desktop session.
